When it’s all over

When this is all over I’ll make it up to you,

we’ll sit down and talk, as normal people do.

Evasiveness and half-truths will be a thing

of the past,

This is a promise I’m making to you.

You can ask all your questions then, but don’t

count on me knowing all the answers.

Meantime, let’s be good friends,

Let’s not punish each other with our sad eyes

and loud silences.

We’ve made it together this far, let’s not

give up now;

Hold my hand and -I’ll hold yours, let’s

be strong.

When it’s all over and we re alone at last, we’ll

begin again softly,

and tenderly as lovers do.
